New Music School
New Music School (NMS) is a comprehensive music school in Chicago serving more than 500 adults and children. The program is overseen and taught by Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians, renowned collegiate professors, and our world-class faculty. Lessons are offered on piano, voice, guitar, and in all orchestral and band instruments for students of all ages. Lessons and group instruction can be taught in classical, popular, rock, and musical theatre genres, including theory and compositional instruction. Additionally, both private and chamber music groups are available. New Music School has been recognized by Chicago Magazine as the Best in Chicago for students under 18 and Best in Voice by CBS News.
AT NMS’s CORE
At NMS, we believe in preparing each student with a set of core musical principals. There are three stages of study at NMS; Foundational, Young Artist and Artist. All students participate in the foundational stage of training when they begin at New Music School. Following completion of the foundational stage, students can elect to join the Young Artist level or audition for the Artist program. NMS students have opportunities to perform in master classes, festivals, workshops, competitions, camps and chamber ensembles at New Music School.
HOW DO I SIGN UP?
The process is very simple. Before we ask new families to commit to a session of lessons, we want to make sure the student-teacher relationship is a strong one. Each student begins by paying for one single lesson with the teacher. If it all goes well, then you can sign up for a session of lessons.
